A 30-14 loss eliminated the Saints from the division race last week, leaving the Falcons (6-9) and Panthers (6-8-1) to decide the title in Atlanta.
Some things to know as the Saints and Bucs close out disappointing seasons:
TURNOVER WOES: There are only three teams in the league with a worse takeaway/give-away differential than Tampa Bay's minus-10. The Saints are one of them at minus-11. Brees has thrown for a league-leading 4,671 yards. He has 32 TD passes, but has also thrown 14 interceptions.
Coach Sean Payton rejects the notion this is a meaningless finale. He's given no thought to resting Brees or other regulars to take a look at young, mostly unproven talent.
The Bucs (2-13) will miss the playoffs for the seventh consecutive year. The Saints (6-9) are out, too, after letting the prospect of squeezing into the postseason
